Krieghoff Grand Champions! |
|
Our doors opened at the Grand American to scores of shooters and championship wins! Time flew as our building filled each day with customers shopping for the latest in Krieghoff apparel and accessories and dropping their guns off for service. As always, we enjoyed meeting new friends and catching up with old ones and hearing how much everyone was enjoying the fabulous weather and facilities at the World Shooting Complex.
After turning in impressive Prelimary Week performances, our shooters held nothing back as they went for the big wins. Harlan Campbell, Jr. was crowned Champion of Champions after a nine round shoot-off. Campbell placed 3rd in both the Doubles Championship and HOA.
Richard Marshall, Jr. met the challenge of the Doubles Championship head on and won top honors. Marshall shot extremely well throughout the event also capturing HOA Runner Up and 3rd place in the White Flyer 2500 Championship. Marshall took time out between events to visit with shooters in our building, offering encouragement and advice.
Kay Ohye took Veteran HOA and was Veteran Champion in the White Flyer 2500 Championship. Sean Hawley broke and impressive 2461 targets to capture the Runner Up spot in the White Flyer 2500.
Hall of Fame shooter Phil Kiner showed his championship style with his Parliament Coach Handicap win. Stephanie Sandler shot strong throughout the Grand, capturing the Ladies Championship in both the White Flyer 2500 Championship and Remington Nitro 27 Handicap.
Junior Shooter Colin Bigras captured the Clay Target Championship in the Junior category.
The excitement flowed from the trap field into our building where Braxton ran the front of the house fitting shooters for demo guns and answering their questions regarding Krieghoff firearms. In the back of the house, Don led his gunsmiths in precision teamwork as they provided expert factory service to our shooters. Additional support was provided throughout the event by several Krieghoff personnel, including Dieter and Betty Krieghoff.
We return to Ottsville with fantastic memories of the Grand American 2008 and the World Shooting Complex. Once again, the ATA and its supporting organizations put on a first-class event with something for everyone.
Our congratulations go out to everyone who took part in the 2008 Grand American! We are counting the days til the 2009 Grand. If you haven’t ventured out to Sparta, IL yet, you are missing out on one GRAND experience!
