Factory choke tubes in the KX-6 and K-80 are the same and are interchangeable.
What kind of rib does the KX-6 come with?
The KX-6 features a unique fully adjustable tapered rib which is ventilated, and measures 7/16" - 5/16" (12 -8 mm) in width. The rib can be easily adjusted allowing you to change the point-of-impact quickly and conveniently. Calibrated at the factory to achieve a 60% / 40% pattern, by altering the height of the rib you can vary the pattern from flat shooting 50% / 50% to nearly a full pattern high. The free-floating adjustable rib is locked in place at the muzzle and breech end by set screws. As the screws are loosened, the rib can be moved up or down by rotating the small knurled nut located below the front bead. As the rib is raised or lowered, it rotates on a short radius around a cam located just in front of the monoblock. When the desired rib height is reached, and both set screws are tightened, you may readjust the comb of the KX-6 stock and the gun is ready to go.
What is the normal trigger pull?
The trigger on the KX-6 is factory set at 3 1/2 lbs. However, the trigger is fully variable for weight of pull and for movement, or sear engagement. Factory specifications call for a trigger pull of between 3 1/4 and 3 ¾ pounds with minimal trigger movement.

What kind of maintenance does the KX-6 require?
The Krieghoff KX-6, like any other fine equipment must be properly maintained to ensure a lifetime of reliable and consistent service. Before assembling and shooting the gun, its critical bearing surfaces must be properly lubricated. Be sure that all bearing surfaces have sufficient grease, particularly the barrel pivots, and the adjacent flat surfaces, and the bearing surfaces between the receiver and the forearm iron. Be very careful to keep these areas free of dirt particles. Do not overgrease. Immediately after shooting and after having made absolutely certain that the KX-6 is unloaded, its external metal surfaces should be wiped down and lightly oiled and the bore of the barrel should be cleaned to prevent fouling before casing or otherwise storing the gun. The action of the KX-6 should also be thoroughly cleaned periodically. Finally, if the gun is used in competition, it should receive an Annual Service performed by Krieghoff International or another qualified Krieghoff gunsmith after every 15,000-20,000 rounds. When storing the KX-6, it should be left uncocked. This will reduce stress to the mainspring and should be done using a snap cap or at least an empty, fired shell to avoid damaging the firing pin. Refer to your KX-6 Instruction Manual for further details on maintenance.

When, where, and how often should I get the KX-6 serviced?
As with any firearm, the KX-6 is a mechanical product with moving parts. Just like a fine automobile, which gets serviced after a certain number of miles, the KX-6 should be serviced by Krieghoff International or another qualified Krieghoff gunsmith after every 15,000-20,000 rounds to keep the gun in top shape and ensure consistent performance. What we refer to as an "Annual Service" consists of the gun being disassembled, cleaned, and re-lubricated. Minor springs and parts are replaced, and the KX-6 is fine-tuned to original factory specifications. Please consider that no other sporting arms take as much pounding as competition shotguns do. Periodic service and maintenance expands the useful and trouble-free life of your fine shotgun.
