Spring Trap Round-Up

03 Apr Spring Trap Round-Up

Krieghoff shooters chase the sun and find a little snow.

When thoughts of the Dixie or Spring Grand pop into a TrapShooter’s head it usually means warm weather with a good chance of sun. Florida delivered this year, but Tucson was quite different with snow gracing the shooting fields of Tucson Trap & Skeet.

Besides the cold snap in Arizona, between the two shoots, plenty of targets were broken by Krieghoff shooters. Many of the names that you have become accustomed to seeing on the leader boards were there, with Championships coming to many K-80 shooters.

With the latest Trap & Field magazine hitting your mailboxes at the time of this writing you will see Krieghoff very well represented on the cover. The main image highlights the Dixie Grand with Barry Kemper – Singles Champion (200), Kay Ohye – Doubles Champion (Lone 100) and Mike Blaisdell – HAA Sub-Vet Champion (388). Accompanying them is Harlan Campbell, JR. the All Around and HOA champion.  Not on the cover, but posting a strong performance was Debbie Ohye-Neilson who finished in the top Lady spot for Doubles, Singles and the HOA.

After a short break, shooting resumed on the other side of the country where sun and dry air is the norm… well, not for the Spring Grand. A little snow wouldn’t hurt the Krieghoff shooters performance.

Richard Marshall, Jr. took the top spot in the HOA and the second spot in the HAA, with Harlan Campbell, Jr. finishing second in the HOA and placing in the singles. Jack Godwin posted a 95 in the Handicap to take the championship and also finished third in the HOA. Sean Hawley helped round out the Krieghoff sweep of the HOA Podium.  Zach Nannini won the Singles Championship over Kay Ohye after a shoot off, with three of the four top spots being K-80 shooters.

If you are attending the Southwestern Grand don’t forget to stop by the Krieghoff building for any service needs, accessories or to try out a new gun.
