Record Number of Shooters Attend NSCA National Championship
Nearly 2,000 shooters descended on San Antonio for the 2013 NSCA National Championship. All of the vendors, shooters, carts, and events have turned this event into a virtual “Disneyland” of shooting and one that you must not miss.
After hovering near the top of the leaderboard through the four day Main Event, Steve Edmondson repeated as your Veteran Champion and finished M4 in the Open. Joining Steve on the first page of scores was Kevin De Michiel who finished M2.
The largest 100 bird Sporting Clays Event held in the world happens during Nationals week. The Krieghoff cup or “K-Kup” as it is known, is an event that every shooter looks forward to. This year it was moved to a location towards the lower half of the National Shooting Complex to allow for birds with more distance and variety. At the end of the week, K-80 shooter Mike Luongo finished Runner-Up in the event after an exciting four way shoot off.
In the FITASC event, Jon Kruger finished Runner-Up with Desi Edmunds taking that position in the Lady Concurrent. Under Veteran, Curtis Lessel won the championship with Rick Mein finishing third. For the 5-Stand, Gebben Miles took home HOA honors with Todd Pulis finishing Third. Steve Edmondson visited the podium once again for the top spot in Veteran.
Rounding out all of the side events, Zach Kienbaum finished with the championship in the Super Sporting, .410 and 20ga. FITASC. Jon Kruger ended the week, adding a few more All American points to his total by finishing Runner-Up in the Super Sporting.
